Two home cooks, one small kitchen.
We're Will and Syd. We started this site because after years of cooking together almost every night, our kitchen had become something like a ritual - and we wanted to share the recipes, tricks, and tools that actually work in a real home kitchen.
We're not trained chefs. We're obsessive home cooks who test every recipe multiple times, argue about whether the sauce needs more acid, and clean as we go (most nights). Everything you see here is something we actually make.

Will
Will is the home cook, data nerd, and adventure-seeker behind half of this operation. Whether he's testing a new recipe, debating whether the sauce needs more acid, or burning something on purpose (it's caramelized), he brings the same obsessive energy to everything he does.
Outside the kitchen, Will is an avid golfer, hiker, rock climber, and traveler who believes the best meals come from exploring somewhere new - but the second-best meals happen right at home on a Tuesday night with whatever's in the fridge. He's a hobbyist at heart with a soft spot for data, the outdoors, and finding out how things work.
Most importantly, he's husband to Syd, proud dad to their baby girl, and co-parent to the world's most enthusiastic golden retriever, Goose.

Syd
Syd is the baker, the reason the kitchen smells incredible, and the outdoor adventurer who keeps this whole operation grounded. Before turning her attention full-time to baking and weeknight cooking, she spent time working at the Bear Center in Ely, MN - yes, with real black bears - and teaching survival skills at an educational learning center in Hackensack, MN.
She's the kind of person who can identify edible plants on a trail, start a fire in the rain, and come home to bake the best layer cake you've ever had - sometimes in the same afternoon. She loves the outdoors, hiking, dogs, and finding beauty in the wild and the everyday.
She's Will's wife, Goose's mom, and the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl. The kitchen is better because of her.
