Snickerdoodles

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 3/4 cups flour
• 3 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt

Cinnamon sugar

• 2 tbsp sugar
• 2 tbsp cinnamon

   Preheat oven to 400°F.

   Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs.

   Sift together all remaining ingredients except the 2 tablespoons each of sugar and cinnamon.

   Stir dry ingredients into the first mixture.

   Roll into balls and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture before placing on a baking sheet.

   Bake for 8–10 minutes; cookies should still look soft.
